The new Modern Warfare 3 Elite DLC maps are only accessible by the ELITE subscriber who downloaded them, other players on the same console are denied access.
Usually, content downloaded to an Xbox console, including games and DLC, can be played by any profile on that console. The problem being, appears to assert the opposite stated terms of download.
Those terms state that, “The item you are trying to download is subject to usage restrictions. You can use this item on the first Xbox 360 console you downloaded it to. Access to this item will also be granted to all users on this first console.”
According to complaints on the official Call of Duty forums, users are found out the issue of Elite DLC being locked to a specific profile.
This seems like a potentially damning move on Activision/Infinity Ward’s part, resulting in families needing to pay for separate premium ELITE memberships for each Modern Warfare 3 player in a household. Though this may be an inadvertent act on Activision’s part, it doesn’t make the issue go away. An annual Call of Duty: Elite membership costs £34.99.
This possible might be just a glitch, although an official response on the matter is yet to be made, to clarify these concerns.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, the game might even come out on the Wii U platform.
