The Weinstein Company debuted the trailer for Woman in Gold, an upcoming American-British drama film directed by Simon Curtis and written by Alexi Kaye Campbell.

Based on the true story of the late Maria Altmann, an elderly Holocaust survivor living in Los Angeles who, together with her young lawyer, E. Randol Schoenberg, fought the government of Austria for almost a decade to reclaim Gustav Klimt’s iconic painting of her aunt, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, which was confiscated from her relatives by the Nazis in Vienna just prior to World War II.

It stars Helen Mirren, Tatiana Maslany, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Brühl, Katie Holmes, Charles Dance and Max Irons.

Synopsis:
“Maria Altmann, a Jewish refugee who is forced to flee Vienna during World War II. Decades later, determined to salvage some dignity from her past, Maria has taken on a mission to reclaim a painting the Nazis stole from her family: the famous Lady In Gold, a portrait of her beloved Aunt Adele.

Partnering with an inexperienced but determined young lawyer (Ryan Reynolds), Maria embarks on an epic journey for justice 60 years in the making.”

Woman in Gold gets a limited theatrical release on April 3, 2015.
