Microsoft finally announced that Windows 8 will be available on October 26th, the announcement was made during the firm’s annual sales meeting today.

Windows president Steven Sinofsky made the announcement at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting, with the details later posted on the Windows blog.

Previously, Tamil Relle corporate vice president of  Windows announced at Microsoft‘s worldwide partner conference in Toronto the the platform would ship in late October and that RTM would occur in early August and now we have a firm date.

Windows 8 will have built in Xbox Live access so you can easily share music and videos between devices. Windows 8 will also play a major role in the Smart Glass initiativeannounced this year at E3.

Manufacturing is scheduled to start from the first week of August and business users will have early access to the final product.
