“It’s like getting a new toy. We’re very excited about the possibilities,” said Naughty Dog Co-president Christophe Balestra in a recent interview.

Speaking with OPM in its latest issue, Balestra says: “After several years working on the same machine you kind of just run out [of steam] and you feel like you need something new just to be able to express yourself and push it to the next level.

Naughty Dog: We're Very Excited About PS4's Possibilities 1

So I think PS4 came at the right time for us – it’s definitely opening lots of doors to us that we didn’t have before.

Of course, technically the games we’re going to be making are going to look better, but it’s going to help the experience that we’re trying to deliver as well.

Everyone is extremely excited right now because we get to do all the new things we couldn’t do before.

We showed some of it at E3 just a couple months ago, and there will be more to come. It’s a good machine, and we’re extremely happy with it.”

Balestra adds, “We’re still learning how to get the best out of it. I mean, back on PS3, if you see the change between Uncharted 1 and 2, that was a pretty big gap! So it takes some time to really get familiar with the machine.

But so far it’s been great. We’ve learned so much about it just working on The Last Of Us Remastered. It’s putting us in a great position to work on Uncharted 4.”

Plot:
“Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves.

With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure.

His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.”

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be available in 2015 for PlayStation 4.
