The developers of Batman Arkham Origins, Warner Bros. Games Montreal discussed the challenge of stepping in after Rocksteady.
Speaking with Game Informer, Arkham Origins creative director Eric Holmes, said “The key to living up to expectations was to take a unique approach with Origins. The challenge for us, coming in after Rocksteady, is to do something which hasn’t been done.”
“This is the story of the first time Batman meets certain characters that are very important to him and defines his relationships, which ultimately starts to define him.
Nobody’s harsher critics about this game than we are and we definitely want it to stand up to the Arkham legacy.”
Origins Senior producer Ben Mattes praised Rocksteady’s work on the previous Arkham games, he said:
“We are very aware of the fact we are standing on the shoulders of giants, we are playing in the space of some of the most critically acclaimed games of all time.”
Batman: Arkham Origins will releases on October 25, 2013 for Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
