Warner Bros. Games Montreal team aims to achieve film noir-low-key lighting to make Batman a more imposing figure.

The team is also looking into previous Arkham games for inspiration and they are going for a different look with the Batman Arkham Origins, Jeremy Price, art director told GameInformer in a video interview.

“Jeremy Price explains the look of the new game, how it compares to Arkham City, and what the Christmas theme brings to the game,” watch the interview below:

“Since this is a prequel, Batman is a mysterious force in the streets of Gotham. Even the cops aren’t sure if he is a myth or supernatural.

The developers are also taking advantage of the holiday setting for the game by creating Christmas decorations that are unique to the haunted world of Gotham City,” according to Price.

Batman: Arkham Origins is set in Gotham City during Christmas Eve. The city is divided into different districts, including residential, commercial, industrial and more.

Previously, Arkham Origins will feature multiplayer.

Batman: Arkham Origins will releases on October 25, 2013 for Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
