Naughty Dog’s upcoming action-adventure, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s multiplayer will not have dedicated servers, runs at 900p/60fps, features microtransactions & more!
Uncharted 4‘s multiplayer will include microtransactions from the beginning, lead multiplayer designer Robert Cogburn told Gamespot.
“Microtransactions will be available at launch, but we’ll have no gameplay items that will be gated through microtransactions.”
Players will be able to purchase weapons, tools and upgrades via real cash or unlock them via in-game currency.
However, “No gameplay items will be gated through microtransactions.” The developer will use December’s closed multiplayer beta feedback to add the right balance to the implementation.
The multiplayer will run at 900p/60fps, the campaign will run at 1080p/30fps.
Uncharted 4’s multiplayer won’t use dedicated servers, Cogburn says “We’ll still have a host, it’s still peer-to-peer.”
Multiplayer will include eight brand new maps and none of the new levels would be a re-hashes from the previous Uncharted titles.
The game’s multiplayer will get vehicles over time, but won’t be available during launch, “I can tell you for ship we will not have vehicles, but it is something we’re hoping to tackle in the future”, Cogburn said.
