Assassin’s Creed franchise is one of the best games that Ubisoft has ever made, it provides an action packed gameplay, deep storylines and a visit to the history. It is firmly established in the gaming world.

Every since Assassin’s Creed 2 was completed, the team started working on Assassin’s Creed III and they have made huge progress in the game. One of the maps in ACIII is 1.5x the size of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, you read that right, the entire game.

Ubisoft: ‘Making Games Too Long Is Disastrous’ 1

In a recent interview with VG247, Assassin’s Creed III’s Creative Director, Alex Hutchison said that, “The game is huge, both in physical size, play time and in the amount of new gameplay we packed in. We stripped out a lot of mechanics and systems from previous games but I think we are still pushing the maximum possible scope.”

He went on to say there is always a danger that too much content will stop players from completing the game and it is something they have to be careful not to lose, “There is only so much you can juggle in your mind simultaneously, and only so much variety you can add before it starts to feel random and not cohesive.”

“Also, we have a very high completion rate on the franchise, and if you make it too long you start to lose that, which would be a disaster for a game like ours where we really value the consistency and continuity of the universe,” Hutchinson said.

Assassin’s Creed III will release on October 30 for PS3, Xbox360, Wii U and on November 23 for PC.
