Assassin’s Creed III features a “flamboyant” assassin, and while Connor is a little bit more “straight laced” than Ezio, director Alex Hutchinson feels he’s a cool Assassin.
In an interview with OPM, Hutchinson says, “I think following up Ezio is going to be a challenge, no matter what you do. He’s so iconic, he’s over-the-top, he’s funny, he’s a juicy character to dig into.”
“We just wanted to create someone who could stand up against the other two Assassins. Yes, [Connor] is a little bit more strait-laced, but it’s the story of his whole life. We really hope people get a kick out of him.”
When asked about Hutchinson’s best elements in Assassin’s Creed III, he said “We spent a lot of time working on this Assassin, trying to make someone who was compelling to people and seemed like a cool person to be. The fact that responses have been positive – we’ve already seen cosplay and fan art – and people seem to really have adopted him, which was really satisfying.”
“When you haven’t shown the new guy, you’re always worried that people won’t embrace him as they did with Ezio before. Overall, just the sheer excitement we’ve generated on a game that comes out once a year has been so rewarding. It’s tough for us. If something comes out once a year, people potentially get tired of it and we work on it every day. Getting people this excited has been really rewarding”, he concluded.

No, he didn't. He just wasn't so impressive.
I hope to get another assassin with ezio is the best
Did you have in your mind a Greek assassin for the battle of 1821 ????
He wasn't as Cool as Ezio and Altair but he impressed me with his fighting and climbing trees.
lol wot. altair will always be the best.
agree with Jamie :)
with out altair no assassins creed lol but cnner have skilles better then them both
Altair is the best!
connor is great, he just has a great background story, but Altair will always be my favorite.
Ezio is the best, conner is awesome with the fact he can run in the trees and hunt, but other than that he is just boring
remember back to how ezio was introduced to us. what he was before sh1t hit the fan. young, careless rascal, whimsical i guess. the first part of his life was joyful. that gives a character certain psychological surplus to source from, even in the darker moments in his later life.
now connor is a different story, his life never got that cheery. that's why he is so serious all the time. this is how it makes sense to me :)
Ezio is the best, conner is awesome with the fact he can run in the trees and hunt, but other than that he is just boring
In my opinion Ezio and Altair were far better than Connor. My personal favorite is Altair the Master Assassin and the legend of all time.
connor is great assassin but i think his was too serious like altair but thats great but we just got attached to ezio because he was funny and a great leader
Nope , Ezio and Altair were greet characters , Connor is very simple and strait-lined !
YEs. Because he showed his abilities. We need to move on Guys. Ezio is no more.
he'll never be as awesome as I am.
To me Connor is likable not because of his personality but because of his abilities/tools. Though I like his relationship with his assassin mentor (specially the last Homestead mission. it really moved me). Still, a change in character is better than prolonging Ezio's story.
Altair is cool because it all began with him. He's like the most wise of all assassins.
i think that assassins creed 3 with connor was the best
I haven't play with Connor YET but I think that it will be a great character too! Of course that is difficult, perhaps i would say almost impossible, to achieve Ezio or Altair. I think that we all love Ezio because in my opinion AC2 was the best game and when the series of AC made a big jump to turn the franchise into something that could be dontinued1 And Altair of course is the true MASTER ASSASSIN. So I hope that Connor can have a strong personality and great skills because that´s what defines an Assassin!
ezio is better
I hope to get another assassin with ezio
I guess he was ok, but in the end I always compare all assassins to Altair. Altair was by far the best assassin, but don't get me wrong I like both Ezio and Connor too. They each have their own unique history, strengths, and weaknesses. I guess in the end I like all of them, but Altair is number 1 on my list.
I loved him, I'm assuming people didnt like him because of the fact that he was so stern. I found him a total bada**.
I hope to get another assassin with ezioI hope to get another assassin with ezio is the best
dude he is dead and if we did, he would be old as hell
tree climbing is awesome so he has my vote :D plus I am also Kaniehkehake like him haha :D
Ezio is the best ,cool and funny Assassin
i didn't enjoy Conno's character as much as I thought I would, I still love Ezio and Altair, funny thing is I enjoyed Haythan Kenway's character more XD but thats just me
Altair could be #1 but he can't swim.
I like Connor the best cause he was actually respectful and had morals unlike Ezio. I also liked the plot for Connor's story a lot
Ezio, he has the most charm and is the most identifiable in my opinion. I really felt for him when I learned his tragic backstory, and loved watching him go from eccentric playboy teenager to wise and courageous Mentor assassin. His personality also makes him extremely likable and I am glad to have experienced his life from conception to death. Connor was also interesting and unique being that he was dragged into the assassin/templar conflict and that his father was an assassin turned templar. I also understand that he had a stoic and stern personality due to his people being in danger and his constant desire for vengeance and peace. He matures and remains dynamic throughout the story, making tough choices and achieving goals he couldn't have before. However, I still prefer Ezio Auditore because I still retain a personal connection with him, and in my opinion, while Connor is still good, he is by far, the BEST assassin. Altair didn't do anything for me.
Connor is a great character and he is a bit like a Batman in terms of personality and tools. Deadly, serious, and determined….I loved how he proves ppl wrong when they think he will fail in his misson, such as in the battle of Bunker Hill proving the guy wrong TWICE.. Move on from EZIO ppl! the guy was great and I heard the same comments about him from ppl that he wasnt as good as the previous assassin. Remember ezio had a great early life and this contributed to him being a cheerful assassin. Connor saw his mother die in front of him at the age of 5 or 6 when his village was burned down by the ppl he would hunt down for the next 25 years of his life, including his own father. That is some Batman mixed with Luke Skywalker right there
Honestly, I love the fact that Ubisoft changed it up a bit with the culture, and I hope more, exotic, and fitting assassins join the ranks. Yes, Altair acted as the first stepping stone to a wonderful series, but Ezio had more skills, and a more of a interesting life. And Connor, who is possibly the most skilled (From seeing his fighting moves, and style, I am DEEPLY impressed) has left an undying mark on the series.
Connor is my favorite of the 3. He's an honest character and the most sympathetic of them all. He is waged with an internal conflict of what side to choose: the order and his people. In his journey he has to make a lot of tough decisions and i can respect that in a character. I hope they dig into the life of Connor as much as they did for Ezio.
Connor was indeed very cool imo. he melded his training as an assassins and his hunting skills. its like so far the 3 assassins have expessed different ways about the assassins. Altair's wisdom. Ezio's skill. and Connor's honor. plus he is the only kid to be able take down a frikan mountain cougar at the start of the game._
I absolutely loved Connor as a character. More than Altair, actually; he had this enduring idealism that he refused to give up, even as he experienced some of the cruelest aspects of life. Most people, if they went through what he did and lived the life that he did, wouldn't have been able to keep that almost childish sense of wonder alive, but he maintained it strongly. Quotes like
Achilles: "You think someone like me can just walk into town, pocket full of pounds, and go shopping?"
Connor: "Yes… why not?"
It's almost naive, the way he views the world, but it's what kept him strong. It made it so, no matter what, a few deaths were too many, and a few wrongs were enough to warrant being fixed. The guy made me crack a smile just as many times as Ezio, and I enjoyed my time playing as him just as much as any other assassin. If you ask me, Altair is the weak one in the chain–his character was expanded upon and made a lot more likable in Revelations, but in the original AC, he was pretty cut and dry, and kind of a douchebag. Connor definitely lived up to Ezio, he was the best character they could have molded for a story like this one. Kudos to you, Ubisoft!
In my views all the Assassin's are cool aslong as they are kind, generous and iconic to the people and cut down evil and reduce unwanted languages
