Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher and game director Daniel Bisson took the stage during Microsoft’s E3 press conference to show off Tomb Raider.

They revealed a fantastic gameplay demo of Tomb Raider and you can check it out after the break:

After a brutal storm destroys the boat she was travelling on, a frightened young woman is left washed ashore on an unknown beach. On her own but not alone she has only one goal, to survive.

Here begins the first adventure for a young and inexperienced Lara Croft in a story which charts the journey of an ordinary woman who finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive.

Tomb Raider was originally scheduled for a 2012 launch, but was recently delayed into early 2013 to give it more polishing time.

Crystal Dynamics’ head of studio Darrell Gallag said ”Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013.”

Tomb Raider releases on March 5, 2013 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
