Naughty Dog is 110% focused on their upcoming action-adventure, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and the work on potential games have been put on hold until they ship Uncharted 4.

In a video interview with Game Informer, game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Druckmann shot down rumors that the studio was early in development on The Last of Us Sequel.

The Last of Us 2 Put On Ice Until Uncharted 4 Is Done 1

“That’s all a big if,” Straley said, referring to The Last of Us 2 rumours. “We’re 110 percent in Uncharted 4 territory now. Blinders on, make this awesome.”

Neil Druckmann acknowledges fans’ desire for The Last of Us Sequel, “We totally get it, because we have those same feelings as well.

We have brainstormed sequel ideas for The Last of Us, and we’ve brainstormed ideas for new games, but all of that is put on ice right now while we work on Uncharted 4.”

Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were asked whether a sequel for The Last of Us will be made without them, to that Straley said: “I will answer for [Druckmann.] He would not be OK with that.”

Druckman added that it’s currently a “big assumption” to think that Naughty Dog will ever make The Last of Us sequel.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be available sometime this year for PlayStation 4.
