Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures’ Thor: Love and Thunder filming has officially wrapped.
To celebrate Thor: Love and Thunder filming wrap, Chris Hemsworth took over Instagram to mark the milestone along with raising awareness for National Don’t Flex Day.
“That’s a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder, it’s also national don’t flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate.
The film is gonna be bats**t crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heartstring or two.
Lots of love, lots of thunder! Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this another incredible Marvel journey. Buckle in, get ready, and see ya in cinemas!!”
Additionally, Waititi shared the image above adding, “And that’s a wrap on Thor: Love and Thunder. ❤️➕⚡️ Sometimes two people come together to inspire the world and change the cinematic landscape forever.
And then there’s me and @chrishemsworth who are too cool to care about anything except making movies that bring people absolute joy.
Ok, I don’t look cool I know that. This film is the craziest thing I’ve ever done and I’m honoured to bust my ass and have a nervous breakdown so you can all see it in May 2022.”
Principal photography began on January 26, 2021, at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney, under the working title The Big Salad, delayed from an initial August 2020 start date due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it finally wrapped on June 1, 2021.
Directed by Taika Waititi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
Natalie Portman will make a return as Jane, taking on the mantle of a female incarnation of Thor along with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson as Thor and Valkyrie, respectively.
Additionally, Vin Diesel as Groot, Taika Waititi as Korg, and Christian Bale will portray the main antagonist, Gorr the God Butcher, along with Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, and Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster.
The film servers as the sequel to Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017), and the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2022, in the United States.
