Activision announced a first-person action game ” The Walking Dead“.
The game tells the story of brothers Daryl and Merle Dixon before the events of the AMC series, as they make their way to the promised safety of Atlanta.
Players will choose to face off with zombies, who react on sight but also to smells and sounds, or use stealth to avoid them as they carefully manage limited supplies of ammo and food.
Daryl will meet other characters on the way that can pose a threat or be of assistance – which one will apparently be up to the player in what sounds like a decision-making mechanic.
“No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world,” says Activision.

Activision is giving the first 100 people who preorder the game (at booth #5344) a special necklace. The zombie-ear necklace is based on the one that Daryl Dixon sports in AMC’s Walking Dead show.
Look for the game in 2013 on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
