We knew that Marvel had been planning to release a trailer for The Avengers, and assumed that it would play this weekend in front of Captain America: The First Avenger. The title of Captain America alone gives you a hint that it is also a lead-in to “The Avengers,” Marvel’s superhero group (or one of them), which will see its own movie in May of 2012. In fact there had been reports that it may be shown at the very end of the movie, in the closing credits, and it finally did :)

Check out the Video below

The trailer is shown at the end of the Captain America, so don’t leave right away. Wait until you watch the trailer.

Starring in that film will be Captain America / Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), The Black Widow / Nastash Romanoff (from Iron Man 2, Scarlett Johansson), Iron Man / Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hawkeye / Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and the Hulk / Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo / Lou Ferrigno as the voice of the Hulk).

Plot:
“And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when earth’s mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat…to fight the foes no single superhero could withstand. On that day,

The Avengers were born. Avengers assemble!”

The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012, in 3D, IMAX, and (naturally) 2D.
