Industrial Light & Magic released a new The Avengers featurette that goes behind the scenes.
“While ‘The Avengers’ posed many visual efffects challenges, one of the larger challenges was pulling together the “tie-in” shot during the third act of the film. Rather than frames, this single shot is measured in minutes on screen and is one of the longest effects shots in the film,” reads the blurb.

The Avengers is third-largest box office hit of all time, earning more than $1.5 billion worldwide. The Avengers 2 is slated to hit theaters in 2015.
