James Gunn, writer and directer of Marvel’s tenth installment Guardians of the Galaxy talks about Thanos and the movie in a recent interview.
Speaking with Crave Online at Thor: The Dark World premiere, James Gunn said, “Thanos is a character in our movie.
He’s the main sort of… He works with Ronan [The Accuser]. In my movie Ronan works for Thanos, and Ronan is the main bad guy in our film.”

Ronan the Accuser, a member of the alien race the Kree is played by Lee Pace. Although an actor for Thanos’ role hasn’t been named yet. Damion Poitier portrayed as Thanos in The Avengers’ post-credit scene.
Guardians of the Galaxy will feature plenty of practical shots as well as CGI, Gunn adds, “We have a prison set that is 350,000 pounds of steel.
Our sets are enormous. Anybody who knows me knows I really love the mix of practical and CGI effects and I carried that over into this movie. We have tons and tons of practical effects… I can’t wait for people to see it because it’s astoundingly beautiful.”
The film features an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Bradley Cooper.
Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled to be released on August 1, 2014 in 3D.
