Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment’s American superhero film, Suicide Squad kicked off with $65 million (including $20.5 million in Thursday night previews) at the domestic box office.

As of October 2, 2016, it has grossed $320.8 million in North America and $418 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $738.8 million, against a budget of $175 million ($325 million including advertising and promotion costs).

The film topped Batman v Superman‘s “B” CinemaScore, it received “B+” CinemaScore from opening day audiences.

Opening across 4,255 theaters (widest for the month of August) with 380 IMAX theaters, over 490 large-format screens locations, 270+ drive-ins, 180+ D-Box locations and over 200+ dine-in/luxury theaters.

Suicide Squad has grossed $65.1 million in North America and $64.6 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $129.7 million, against a budget of $175 million, as of August 6, 2016.

It recorded the biggest opening of all time for Warner Bros. in Russia, the biggest August opening day of all time in Brazil, South Korea (second biggest Warner Bros. opening day), France, Sweden and Holland (the biggest opening day of all time for a superhero movie and the biggest of the year).

  • UK – $6.2 million
  • Mexico – $3.9 million
  • Russia – $2.6 million
  • Australia – $2.3 million
  • Brazil – $2 million
  • Korea – $1.8 million
  • Spain – $1.4 million
  • France – $1.2 million

This weekend’s new release: EuropaCorp’s Nine Lives, released in the United States and Canada alongside Suicide Squad, it grossed $2.37 million from 2,264 theaters in its opening weekend.

Universal Pictures’ Jason Bourne holds the second spot, it has grossed $87.3 million in North America and $50.7 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $138 million, against a production budget of $120 million.

STX Entertainment’s Bad Moms takes third spot, it grossed $41.3 million in North America and $1,4 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $42.7 million, against a production budget of $20 million.

Universal Pictures’ The Secret Life of Pets takes fourth grossing $311.3 million in North America and $103.6 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $414.8 million, against a budget of $75 million.

Paramount Pictures’ Star Trek Beyond takes fifth spot, it grossed $117.7 million in North America and $56.4 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $174.1 million against a budget of $185 million.

Suicide Squad stars an ensemble cast featuring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Karen Fukuhara, Jay Hernandez, Adam Beach, and Viola Davis.
