Sony confirmed that the open Public Beta for Starhawk will start on January 17 for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
The open beta won’t quite be open at first however, as the developer intends to roll it out slowly to different users. If you haven’t picked up a beta code for Starhawk when you purchased Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, you now have access to the Starhawk multiplayer beta.
The beta key can be redeemed via the PlayStation Store, and you’ll have access for the remainder of the beta period.
Holders of the US Uncharted 3 beta keys will get it January 31. So-called “early access” codes from Facebook and GameStop will grant access on February 7 (hit the source link below for info on that), and an IGN promotion will see access opened up to more of you on February 14.
Finally, on February 21, the beta will open up to all PSN users.
“This is a crucial step for us as we’ll be testing all sorts of things, including game balance, server traffic, and general bugs. This is also a chance for more players to finally see what we’ve been working so hard on,” said the developer via the PS Blog.
