Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures revealed epic space opera film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer and poster.

It is the second film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy following Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).

The trailer premiered during halftime of the NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears on ESPN and you can watch it now in the player below!

The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis in returning roles.

Storyline:
“Having taken her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Rey continues her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the saga.”

New cast members include Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran in unconfirmed roles. Fisher died in December 2016, making this one of her final performances.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson.

John Williams, the composer for the previous seven Star Wars films, returns to compose the score for the sequel.

Principal photography began at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom in February 2016 and concluded in July 2016.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017.
