Sony’s eighth generation console, PlayStation 4 launched on November 15 in North America and according to the company it has sold more than 1 million units in just 24 hours.
PS4 has sold faster than all previous PlayStation consoles making it the fastest selling console, surpassing PlayStation 2’s (March 2000) initial demand in Japan.

The console won’t be available in most of the countries until late November and December (and February in Japan).
“PS4 was designed with an unwavering commitment to gamers, and we are thrilled that consumer reaction has been so phenomenal,” said Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House.
“Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29.
We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support.”
PlayStation 4 will launch on November 29, 2013 in Europe for $399/€399/£349.
