As expected, During Sony’s Tokyo Game Show conference they revealed a new PlayStation 3 model.

The all new design and super slim PS3 is half the size of the original “fat” PS3; it’s about a quarter lighter than the current Slim.

It will be available in two SKUS, a 500GB version bundled with FIFA 13 for €299.99 and the second a wallet-friendly 12GB version for €229.99 standalone, and owners of the 12GB model will be able to connect a 5 inch SATA internal hard drive with use of an official Mounting Bracket, or opt for purchase of an official PlayStation 250GB internal HDD.

The 250GB PS3 will be available in the US on September 25 for $249, or for $270 as part of a limited edition bundle featuring Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year Edition and a voucher for more than $30 worth of bonus digital content for DUST 514. The 500GB PS3 will launch in the States on October 30 for $299.

The 250GB console will launch in Japan on October 4 priced at 24,980 yen, while the 500GB one will release on October 30 for 29,980 yen.

The new PS3 will be available in Australia from September 27, with the 12GB version costing $299.95 and the 500GB one $399.95.

To tie in with the launch, Sony introduced PS3 Essentials a new range of budget PS3 software releases with the new PS3 model next week. PS3 Essentials will retail for around €19.99, with numerous titles available to download from the PlayStation Store from around €14.99 (marked with an *), according to the PS Blog.
