Sony announced that PlayStation Store users can now top-up their digital wallet using their mobile phone.

You can purchase content using mobile by visiting the Sony Entertainment Network Account Management website and PlayStation Store on PlayStation 3.

“Working with mobile payments company, Boku, the process makes it easier for users to obtain PlayStation Store and Sony Entertainment Network content, including downloadable games, add-ons, themes, movies and TV shows, as well as subscriptions to the Music Unlimited service.”

Boku Mobile Billing offers a quick, simple checkout experience for virtual and digital goods and services on the web and on mobile with no registration or bank account required.

“Customers choose “mobile” as the payment option, enter the mobile phone number, and respond via SMS to confirm the wallet top-up. The costs will appear on their next mobile phone bill, or is debited against their pre-paid account.”

“We are always looking at new ways to give our customers more choice in terms of content, accessibility and payment methods, and are pleased to be able to offer the option of mobile operator billing, which are becoming more and more popular,” said Gordon Thornton, vice president of Sony Network Entertainment Europe.

“Mobile operator billing works in conjunction with all major UK mobile network operators.”
