Good News! Sony can now get PlayStation 2 games to run on PlayStation 4, thanks to PS2 Emulation.

The PS2 Emulation will allow PS4 owners to play PS2 games, but that doesn’t mean you should be expecting backwards compatibility.

“We are working on utilizing PS2 emulation technology to bring PS2 games forward to the current generation, a Sony representative told Wired.

We have nothing further to comment at this point in time.”

The first PS2 games that use PS2 emulation software are already out, they are featured in Star Wars PS4 bundle, that also includes Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.

All those PS2 games run via a emulator that supports trophies and upscales the game’s textures and frame rate.

Sony’s annual event, PlayStation Experience is set for December 1st week in San Francisco, we are hoping to hear more about PS2 Emulation at the event. What do you think?
