Sam Raimi Weighs In On Marvel’s Spider-Man Reboot 1

MTV caught up with Raimi at Comic-Con and asked him to share his thoughts on Marvel and Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot, he replied: “I’m really glad that Marvel’s taking it to high school.

I think that’s gonna be refreshing, and just like my favorite of the Spider-Man comic-books.

And I have a lot of faith that they really know their stuff… The difficulty of going through high school is so unique to a superhero.

It’s unique and that’s what Spider-Man’s all about, so that they’re gonna explore that head on is very exciting.”

He was further asked if he had the chance to watch Marc Webb’s two The Amazing Spider-Man movies, he said: “I saw [both Marc Webb movies], they’re great.”

Raimi was also asked if he had anything that he would like to see Marvel explore in upcoming reboot: “I’d like to go into his high school life and his relationships with Gwen Stacy, he said.

I love Flash Thompson. The drama and the difficulty of going through high school is so unique to a superhero, that’s what Spider-Man’s all about, so that they’re going to explore that is very exciting.”
