20th Century Fox had announced its plans to reboot 2007’s action film, Hitman and change the title to Agent 47. It was set to feature Paul Walker in the lead, but due to Walker’s tragic death Rupert Friend will replace him.

English film actor, writer and director, Rupert Friend is in talks to take on the role of Agent 47 in a Hitman reboot film.

Friend is best known for his roles as Mr. Wickham in Pride and Prejudice (2005), Lieutenant Kurt Kotler in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (2008), and Prince Albert in The Young Victoria (2009). He currently plays as Peter Quinn in Showtime’s television drama, Homeland.

The film will be directed by Aleksander Bach, scripted by Kyle Ward, Skip Woods, and Michael Finch.

Square Enix’s (previously from Eidos Interactive) popular video game series was adapted to the big screen in 2007 with Timothy Olyphant in the lead. It generated around $100 million in theaters worldwide.
