Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies said, that they would like to connect all the cities depicted in the Grand Theft Auto series into one explorable world.

In an interview with Digital Trends, Benzies says, “Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities,” Benzies told Digital Trends, “and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas, and in that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting”.

On the subject of mobile development, Benzies hints that they would like to port their previous releases to mobile devices. “Also the power of mobile technology is increasing so rapidly it is hard to imagine the kind of games we could be releasing for them in years to come,” he said.

“Whether these are repurposed versions of existing games or entirely new IPs I couldn’t say, but if you look at Chinatown Wars you can see that we are always up for the challenge of designing games for new technologies and making the most of all their features, not just their processing power.”

Grand Theft Auto will revisit the city of Los Santos from 2004′s San Andreas in the next game, GTA V will release in spring 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
