Screen Gems’ upcoming science-fiction action-horror film, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter‘s production has finally come to an end.

American actress and the leading lady in the movie, Milla Jovovich took to Instagram to reveal the end of production & new photos from the set, check them out in the gallery below:

The Principal photography started in September 2015 in Cape Town / Hartbeespoort Dam, South Africa, the filming came to an end on December 9, 2015.

Directed & written by Paul W.S. Anderson and produced by Jeremy Bolt, Paul W.S. Anderson, Robert Kulzer and Samuel Hadida. Martin Moszkowicz serves as executive producer with Victor Hadida.

It stars Milla Jovovich as Alice, Ali Larter as Claire Redfield, Iain Glen as Dr. Alexander Isaacs, Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker, Ruby Rose as Abigail, Eoin Macken as Doc, William Levy as Christian, Fraser James as Michael, and Rola as Cobalt.

Synopsis:
“Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C.

As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters.

Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.”

The Production services in South Africa are rendered by producer Genevieve Hofmeyr. The creative production team includes Director of Photography, Glen MacPherson; Production Designer, Edward Thomas; Costume Designer, Reza Levy; Visual Effects Supervisor, Dennis Berardi and Editor, Doobie White.

The sixth installment in the Resident Evil series, the film is a sequel to Resident Evil: Retribution (2012), and is intended to be the last of the series.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is set to release in 3D & 2D theaters on January 27, 2017.
