Rumors have surfaced of when we will hear about the next Resident Evil game.  A picture from a supposedly closed door Capcom press event at Comic-Con has shown possibly the new logo to Resident Evil 6.  In addition, there is a date at the bottom of the logo, which has lead to speculation that we will get the first reveal of Resident Evil 6 on 15th September.

The invite-only event reportedly featured presentations on upcoming Capcom games and marketing plans, before Capcom flashed up the Resident Evil 6 logo on-screen. The poster claims the publisher didn’t give out any details about the game, but did note that it’s to reveal information at TGS in September, so it would make sense for Capcom to release more details on this date.  These are just rumors however at this stage, and there has been no confirmation on whether the picture is legitimate.  But it isn’t too inconceivable to imagine that on 9-15-2011 we will get more details about where Capcom plans to take the Resident Evil series.

The big question though is what producer Masachika Kawata meant when he said in April that the next game would be a ‘complete renovation’. Although this implies it will drop the style of third person action introduced by Resident Evil 4, fans are conflicted as to whether it also implies a return to old school survival horror.
