Canadian actress, Rachel Anne McAdams has been confirmed to play the female lead opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

McAdams has been rumored to play the role for weeks, but now The Wrap confirmed the news from Toronto International Film Festival.

Rachel McAdams is popularly know for her roles in Mean Girls (2004), The Notebook (2004), Wedding Crashers (2005), Red Eye (2005), and The Family Stone (2005).

Directed by Scott Derrickson from Jon Spaihts, Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer’s script.

The film also stars Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Baron Mordo.

The shooting is set to begin in November 2015 at Pinewood-Shepperton studios in UK.

Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit theaters on November 4, 2016.
