Sony’s next-gen PlayStation will launch before the end of 2013 and it’ll go on sale for over 40,000 yen (about $428), according a major Japanese daily ‘the Asahi Shimbun’.
PlayStation 3 was priced at just under ¥50,000 ($534), and 20GB ($499) and 60GB ($599) in the US. The $400 price point is not far away from the Wii U’s current $349 price point, next-gen console might launch at a affordable price.
Japanese business daily Nikkei reported that Sony’s February 20th event will indeed unveil Sony’s next-gen PlayStation, which features Gaikai’s cloud technology. PS4 will be ‘fully networked’ and ‘be furnished with the ability to exchange opinions among friends while playing games.’
