French actress, Pom Klementieff has been cast to play a key role in Marvel Studios & Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures’ Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.
The studio conducted a wide search for the mystery role, which reportedly called for an Asian actress, doing several rounds of chemistry reads, According to The Hollywood Reporter.
Klementieff is known for her roles in the Loup (2009), Sleepless Night (2011), Oldboy (2013) and Hacker’s Game (2015).
Additionally, American actor and producer, Matthew McConaughey was offered the villain role in the upcoming movie, but he has turned it down, according to Variety.
The studio’s search is ongoing and a new actor will be cast soon, as the February 2016 production nears.
It’s unclear what character McConaughey was offered but we think it might be a very important role, what do you think?
The sequel will see the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, Bradley Cooper.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 production begins in February 2016 at Pinewood Atlanta. It is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
