Sony upcoming sim racing video game, Gran Turismo 6 is scheduled to be released later this year for PS3, but according to Kazunori Yamauchi, they are planning a PS4 version.
Speaking with OPM, CEO of Polyphony Digital Kazunori Yamauchi, said, “We actually do have a PS4 version in mind.” but he didn’t go in detail about that.
GT6 will bring new levels of authenticity to ‘the Real Driving Simulator’ as well as introducing stunning new tracks and cars and a revised user interface. A new compact game engine will improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content.
Yamauchi adds, “Driving a racing car, you control it with a lot of different sensors mounted on the car, we’re able to collect a lot of different data: how the ride height of the car changes when you’re driving, how that changes in relation to the aerodynamics, and how your steering balance changes.
“Two weeks ago I drove the Nissan GTR GT3 on the Nürburgring, and we collected the data from that car as well – and when we returned to Japan we fed all this data into Gran Turismo. I drove the same [car and track] in Gran Turismo, and started to realise what was different,” he concluded.
