Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) chief executive, Andrew House took the stage during their Gamescom press conference to announce the release date for PlayStation 4.
Sony’s upcoming eighth generation console, PlayStation 4 will launch on November 15, 2013 in Canada and the U.S, November 29, 2013 in Europe including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and 10 Latin American countries Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru.
He also confirmed that over 1 million PlayStation 4‘s have been pre-ordered worldwide. 33 launch frame titles will be made available end of this year with support for Twitch, a live internet streaming service devoted to video gaming, PS4 users can easily broadcast their gameplay to their Twitch channel in real-time by simply hitting DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller’s ‘Share button.’
A total of 15 Blu-ray Disc titles developed by SCE Worldwide Studios and numerous software developers and publishers from around the globe will be released between the launch of PS4 and December 31st. Combined with digital download titles, 33 titles will be available before the end of the year.
The launch titles include:
- NBA 2K14
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Skylanders Swap Force
- Need for Speed: Rivals
- Battlefield 4
- Madden 25
- FIFA 14
- Killzone: Shadow Fall
- Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
- Just Dance 2014
- LEGO Marvel Superheroes
Currently, there are more than 180 PS4 titles in development, such as Destiny, Diablo 3, Mad Max, Witcher 3, The Divison, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Shadow of the Beast, The Order:1886, inFamous: Second Son, Rime, Hell Divers, Everybody’s Gone to The Rapture, and Resogun, expected to release for PS4.
PlayStation 4 ships with a 14 day subscription of PlayStation Plus, all PS4 owners will have day one access to Driveclub PS Plus Edition and Resogun, the new game from the creators of Stardust.
Sony also confirmed that users who buy a year’s PS Plus subscription from tomorrow will be given an extra 90 days for free, offer is valid for one month.
PlayStation 4 launches this November for $399/ €399/£349.
