Paramount Pictures released a new Red Band trailer for Pain and Gain, an upcoming action comedy film written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and directed by Michael Bay.

Based on a 1999 series of Miami New Times articles by investigative journalist Pete Collins about “a couple of Florida steroid-abusing knucklehead bodybuilders who become criminals involved in an extortion ring and a kidnapping plot that goes horribly awry.”

The film stars Mark WahlbergDwayne Johnson, Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Tony Shalhoub, Bar Paly, Rebel Wilson, Ken Jeong and Yolanthe Cabau.

Pain & Gain tells the true story of a gang of Miami bodybuilders who get involved with extortion, kidnapping, and murder. Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson (both playing the roles of incompetently murderous bodybuilders) and Ed Harris have starring roles in the film. Harris plays private detective Ed Du Bois who cracks the case after the Miami Police Departmentfails to do so.”

Pain and Gain is scheduled for a release date of April 26, 2013.
