20th Century Fox’s sci-fi action sequel/reboot will not be set deep in the jungle, but instead all the action and terror will take place in the suburbs.

The film will be directed by Shane Black and he will co-write the script with Fred Dekker.

The first movie in the Predator franchise, Predator (1987) was directed by John McTiernan with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite special forces team, who are on a mission to rescue hostages from guerrilla territory in Central America.

Followed by a direct sequel, Predator 2 (1990). In the film a different Predator arrives in Los Angeles and begins hunting violent gang members, drawing the attention of the local police force.

The creature itself is in turn being hunted by a secretive government task-force seeking to capture it for study.

And then a crossover series was released, Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)

In 2010, Robert Rodriguez was hired to relaunch the franchise with Nimród Antal signed on to direct the film.

Predators (2010) was set on a Predator game reserve planet, where a group of soldiers battle for their lives against the creatures.

Details on The Predator are still kept under wraps. Although, filming is expected to kick off in February 2017.

Previously, Benicio del Toro was signed on to star in the film, but Boyd Holbrook replaced del Toro, due to scheduling conflicts.

The Predator will release on February 9, 2018.
