Open Road Films debuted the trailer for The Nut Job, an upcoming Canadian 3D computer animated comedy film directed by Peter Lepeniotis, written by Lorne Cameron and Peter Lepeniotis.

Based on the 2005 short animated film Surly Squirrel by Peter Lepeniotis. It stars Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl, Brendan Fraser, Stephen Lang, Sarah Gadon and Will Arnett.

Storyline:
“Surly, a curmudgeon, independent squirrel is banished from his park and forced to survive in the city. Lucky for him, he stumbles on the one thing that may be able to save his life, and the rest of park community, as they gear up for winter – Maury’s Nut Store.”

The Nut Job will be released in US on January 17, 2014.
