EA’s announced a release date for Need for Speed: The Run demo, The demo offers test races in the Desert Hills of California and Independence Pass of Colorado, NFS : The Run Demo will hit Xbox Live first on October 18 (expiring November 1) and PSN on October 19 (also expiring November 1).

Speed franchise takes off this November with “The Run,” a new entry that utilizes DICE’s Frostbite 2.0 engine (found in Battlefield 3), and incorporates on-foot segments for the first time in series history. Nearly a month before its release, curious gamers will have a chance to take Need For Speed: The Run on a test drive, as demos.

According to EA Black Box, the demo will incorporate NFS’s Autolog system, and grant access to two supercars: The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, and the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S. To unlock the Porsche, however, you’ll have to refer a friend to download the demo. Once they do, it will become unlocked.

EA on Need for Speed: The Run official Twitter account confirmed that demo version of the game will not be coming to PC.

Need for Speed The Run will be available on November 15, 2011 in North America and November 17, 2011 in Europe, for PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS.
