New rumors suggest that Microsoft is working on next generation console codenamed Durango.

The Code-names are nothing new, like the Katana (Dreamcast), Kinect (Project Natal), Dolphin (GameCube) and Revolution (Wii) before it, it’s not the name of the final product.

If the report from Kotaku is correct, we could be hearing a lot more about “Durango” in the coming months/years leading up to the release of the next generation console. As we wait patiently for a word from Microsoft about their next generation console, the company won’t be making any announcements about a new console anytime soon.

Rumor - Next-Gen Xbox Codenamed ‘Durango’ 1

We might hear something about Microsoft’s next generation at E3 2012, which is still a longshot according to Microsoft brass.

Durango will focus on improving human-interface, by creating a combination of Kinect and a newer gamepad with a touchscreen.

What names do you think would work best for the next Xbox?
