New drivers from Nvidia have been released just in time for the Battlefield 3 beta. The new drivers for the upcoming first person shooter improve the performance of the game by 38%. Alongisde the performance increase, the drivers are said to increase stability, image quality, and add or update SLI profiles for Battlefield 3, Dead Island, Diablo III, Dragon Age 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third.
Open beta test for Battlefield 3 set for release later this week, lots of PC gamers are hoping that the beta for the upcoming first person shooter will run on their gaming rigs. Today NVIDIA has released a new set of GeForce beta drivers that it claims will improve the performance for people who have PCs with NVIDIA-based graphic cards.
DICE Johan Andersson is working on Battlefield 3 and recommended them specifically via Twitter.
Before you go into battle, make sure your PC meets the game’s recommended specs and download new GeForce 285.38 beta drivers.
GeForce 285.38 highlights:
- Increases performance in Battlefield 3 by up to 38 percenti.
- Improves overall stability and image quality in Battlefield 3.
- Adds or updates SLI profiles for Battlefield 3, Dead Island, Diablo III, Dragon Age 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third.
- Fixed a performance regression in 285.27 beta running Crysis 2 (DirectX 9)
AMD drivers are on the way, however no benchmarks for improvements were given. Team members at DICE recently took to Twitter to announce the release of the drivers, and to remind fans to have them installed and ready to go for the beta which starts tommorrow.
Battlefield 3 open beta, which will let players check out one of the game’s multiplayer maps, Operation Metro, will launch on Tuesday, September 27 for people who pre-ordered 2010’s first person shooter Medal of Honor along with PC gamers who pre-ordered the digital download version of Battlefield 3. Everyone else will get access to the beta on Thursday, September 29.
Battlefield 3 will be out on October 28 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
