The next entry in the Batman Arkham franchise will be out in 2013, according to Warner Bros. Interactive.
During the company’s Q4 2012 earnings call, Warner CFO John K. Martin confirmed the new game, though Rocksteady Studios is reportedly not developing the game.
“[W]e also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise,” he said. “So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”
This points at the rumored Batman game form of a prequel that’s set during the Silver Age.

Is there a particular reason why they just don't continue the storylines they already set up? I mean I could understand a sequel with flashbacks to the silver age but a complete prequel doesn't make sense. Why abandon what was already set up?
Hush, Azrael, Scarecrow returning somehow, Catwoman vs. Poison Ivy once Ivy learns the truth, Catwoman vs. Two-Face, Robin, Nightwing, Black Mask. And bring back Killer Croc for a better viewing. There are still a large group of Batman's Rogue gallery they can use that haven't been used yet and bring back all the ones that didn't die in Arkham City.
