Tom Cruise will reprise his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt and Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, an MI6 agent.

The fifth installment in the Mission: Impossible film series, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation also featured Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, and Alec Baldwin. I think it is safe to bet that some of them will return for sixth installment.

Mission: Impossible 6 will be directed by Chris McQuarrie, production on the film is set to begin in the spring of 2017.

Tom Cruise will be producing Mission: Impossible 6 along with David Ellison and Dana Goldberg at Skydance Productions and J.J. Abrams at Bad Robot Productions.

McQuarrie returning to direct the second movie in the franchise, marks the first time a director helmed more than one Mission: Impossible film.

Mission: Impossible (1996) was directed by Brian De Palma, Mission: Impossible II (2000) by John Woo, Mission: Impossible III (2006) by J. J. Abrams and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) by Brad Bird.

Paramount Pictures also announced December 22, 2017 release date for American film director, Alexander Payne’s, Downsizing.

Mission: Impossible 6 is set to arrive in theaters on July 27, 2018.
