Paramount Pictures’ upcoming American action spy film, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation‘s plane stunt was inspired by Naughty Dog’s 2011 action-adventure third-person shooter, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Speaking in a Twitter Q&A, director Christopher McQuarrie was asked about Tom Cruise’s insane plane stunt, He replied saying that it wasn’t just a group effort of the crew, but quoted Uncharted as inspiration.
Justin Richmond, Uncharted 3 game director was very pleased to hear that, he replied: “You just made my month.”
The Uncharted 3 stunt shows Nathan Drake in a pursuit of a cargo plane and Elena Fisher helps him get inside via the landing gear and then gets into a fight with thugs in cargo bay and tries to get back into the plane as the air sucks him out.
The UC3 sequence could be inspired by The Living Daylights (1987), the fifteenth entry in the James Bond film series, it features a scene in the end where Timothy Dalton, MI6 agent James Bond is grappling with an enemy while dangerously hanging out of a cargo plane.

My favorite Uncharted game is the Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception. The cargo plane scene is my favorite scene out of all the Uncharted games! It will be cool to see how Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation does their take on it.
