English actor and film producer, Benedict Cumberbatch has official joined Marvel Cinematic Universe as superhero, Doctor Strange (Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange) in Marvel’s upcoming live-action feature film.

Cumberbatch will play Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange (known as Doctor Strange), a former neurosurgeon and Master of the Mystic Arts who serves as the Sorcerer Supreme — the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats.

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said producer Kevin Feige.

“In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

Cumberbatch’s latest Alan Turing’s biopic, The Imitation Game is in theaters now & he is best know for his role in BBC’s British television crime drama, Sherlock as fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes.

He is also part of The Hobbit: The Army of the Five Armies voice cast as a dragon Smaug and the Necromancer.

Doctor Strange will be directed by Scott Derrickson, plot details are yet to be revealed. It is set to hit theaters on November 4, 2016.
