The Weinstein Company released a new trailer for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, an upcoming biographical film directed by Justin Chadwick and script by William Nicholson.
Based on the 1994 book Long Walk to Freedom by anti-apartheid revolutionary and former South African President Nelson Mandela.
Starring Idris Elba, Naomie Harris, Tony Kgoroge, Riaad Moosa, Zolani Mkiva, Jamie Bartlett, Lindiwe Matshikiza, Deon Lotz and Terry Pheto.
Plot:
“A chronicle of Nelson Mandela’s life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.
It explores the Mandela unknown to most of the world – the lover of fancy cars, a ladies’ man, the boxing enthusiast and playboy, the skilful lawyer and freedom fighter. The film is an intimate portrait of the making of a modern icon.”
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is set to be released on November 29, 2013.
