Madame Web was created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr., she first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #210, published in November 1980. She is usually depicted as a supporting character in the Spider-Man comic book series, where she appears as an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis, connected to a life support system resembling a spiderweb.

“In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines.

The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities.

Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present.”

Directed by S. J. Clarkson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Claire Parker from a story by Kerem Sanga.

Madame Web is scheduled to hit the big screens in the United States on February 14, 2024.
