American actor, Kurt Russell is currently James Gunn‘s choice to play the role of Star Lord’s father in Marvel Studios & Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures’ Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.

Russel wasn’t offered to read the script, nor a role from Marvel yet, but according to The Wrap’s sources, the meetings between the studio and Russell are expected to happen very soon.

Kurt Vogel Russell was Walt Disney Company’s top star in 1970s.

His appearances in recent years include Poseidon (2006), Death Proof (2007), Furious 7, Bone Tomahawk & The Hateful Eight.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 production begins in February 2016 at Pinewood Atlanta. It is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
