Writer & director, Joe Robert Cole is currently in talks to write the script for Marvel’s upcoming film, Black Panther.
Cole is part of the same in-house writer’s program that American screenwriter, Nicole Perlman was, when she wrote the first draft of Marvel’s American superhero film, Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
Joe Robert Cole is also reported to have written a script for Inhumans (2019), but that script won’t be used.
Cole is popularly known for writing and directing Amber Lake (2011).
Since Ava Marie DuVernay turned down the project, a director will be chosen only after the script for the movie has been finished.
Chadwick Boseman will lead the movie as T’Challa / Black Panther.
The film will tentatively start shooting sometime in 2017 for July 6, 2018 release.
But before starring in his own solo film – Boseman will make his debut in Marvel’s upcoming Captain America: Civil War, which hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
