Apple iPhone is ready to start making the yet to be announced iPhone5 and planning for a summer launch.
9to5Mac claims to have been informed by “a reliable source at Foxconn” in China said that the new smartphone is now gearing up for production, and it also claims that there are a number of sample devices floating around.
so it isn’t clear which will be the final model. Each of them have some things in common and they are:
- 4+ inch display (made by LG on at least one of them).
- No teardrop-shaped devices, as rumored in the lead up to the iPhone 4S. Samples so far have been symmetrical in thickness (also longer/wider).
- Neither of the sample devices have the iPhone 4/4S form factor.
- Neither of the devices are the final versions.
9to5 Mac has also mentioned that it is important to remember that iPhone 4S production did not gear up until late spring of last year, where if the iPhone 5 follows the same pattern Apple could plan a summer/WWDC launch.
