Arvind Bhatia, analyst at Sterne Agee predicts Grand Theft Auto V to sell around 18 million copies in Take-Two’s fiscal year.
Bhatia also estimates Rockstar has spent around $137.5 million on development, the massive figure was deduced by the analyst using a “hypothetical probability model” which is based on a five-year project using a team of 250 development team, marketing costs of between $69 million and $109.3 million.
He feels even selling only 15 million copies and Take-Two go easy on marketing , the game could generate more than $193.6 million in sales. GTA V will sell 18 million copies during its first first sixth months.
He also says GTA V will be the biggest selling title of the year outselling Call of Duty in 2013 and only Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 can force GTA V to settle for second.
Previously, Cowen & Company analyst suggested that Rockstar may be planning to release GTA V on the next-gen consoles too, following its delay until September.
Grand Theft Auto V will release on September 17, 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
