Kojima Productions and Konami’s action-adventure stealth game, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has shipped over 1 million copies to retails worldwide.
It’s unclear how many of those 1 million physical copies sent to retailers were actually sold, but it was the sixth best-selling game in March, it’s obvious that they did not include digital version sale figures for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
The “Deja Vu” mission allows players to control a recreation of Solid Snake’s model from the original Metal Gear Solid as he explores a version of Camp Omega that is similar to Shadow Moses Island and contains familiar elements and characters from the game, such as Psycho Mantis.
The “Jamais Vu” mission, starring Raiden as he appears in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, who is tasked with eliminating “body snatchers” at Camp Omega.
The firm also announced that a patch for the game is in works, it will be available on May 1, which unlocks access to the PlayStation exclusive “Deja vu” and Xbox exclusive “Jamais Vu” missions to everyone.
During the first week of release in Japan, PS3 version sold 119,615 physical retail copies, ranking third place amongst all Japanese software sales within that week, with 91,903 PS4 physical retail copies sold.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes hits the store on March 18 in US and March 20, 2014 in EU for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
